The joys of a joystick

Now that the beta version of Dr. Hare's Revenge is available for Poptropica Members, we thought you'd all like a look at the new control scheme we're trying on mobile devices. Here's how it looks:

The first thing to notice is the virtual joystick in the bottom left. This is how you'll move your Poptropican. Place your thumb on the big white dot in the center, and then slide left or right to make your character move.

Just as with the original controls, if you move just a bit, your character will walk, and if you move more, they'll run. But you won't need to move quite so far now.

In the bottom right is the jump button. This should be self-explanatory. Press it to jump. Tap for a short jump, and hold for a longer one.

Last is the smaller button above the jump. There won't always be a button here. It'll appear when you're able to accomplish an action such as entering a door. If there's no context-sensitive action available, then there won't be a button.
